The Coordinator of Faith Development will consistently model and interpret to the congregation and larger community the following:
1. the goals established by the Administrative Council;
2. the vision of the congregation, specifically the challenge to grow in faith.

The Coordinator of Faith Development has primary responsibility for recruiting, training, and supporting those who implement church programs for children and youth, those who provide child care, and those who teach/facilitate most adult courses.
The Coordinator will establish and work with members of a Faith Development Ministry Team as guides and evaluators of programs.
The Coordinator will support the primary directors of nursery, children, and youth programs, equipping each to implement programs of spiritual development for those to whom they minister in the process of making disciples of Jesus Christ.

REPORTS TO: Senior Pastor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Youth, Children, and Nursery Personnel
Coordinates with Pastor, Staff, Administrative Board, teachers, leaders, and volunteers

Detailed Duties
Leadership and Administrative
1. Provide training annually, concerning Safe Sanctuaries policy for all paid and volunteer staff who work with Youth and Vulnerable Adults.
2. Work with Coordinator of Operations to run background checks of all new hire staff members.
3. Supervise program staff and facilitate the development of annual goals and provide evaluation of each.
4. Be staff representative to and attend meetings of the appropriate committees with interests in the ministry area.
5. Attend weekly staff meeting.
6. Attend Administrative Council meetings.
7. Prepare, maintain and work within an annual budget for all Ministries under your supervision.
8. Study and understand spiritual and other developmental needs of all age levels.
9. Participate in worship services at FUMC and encourage children and youth to participate in worship.
10. Promote and attend conference and district events.
11. Participate in continuing education for professional and personal growth.
12. Provide a schedule for on-site hours and for scheduled off-site events.
13. Display high standards in attitude, outlook and morals with awareness of the importance of leading by example.
14. Practice excellent attendance and punctuality.
15. Understand and exercise appropriate confidentiality of church related business and personal matters, and exercise good judgment in performance of duties.
16. Perform related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree. Understanding of, and commitments to, the organization, theology and beliefs of the United Methodist Church, is preferred.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Prior experience in leadership position in Christian education and all levels of Children’s Ministries preferred. Proficient use of Microsoft Office, current Internet media, and other communication tools are necessary.
REQUIRED
Pass required background clearance. Maintain valid NM driver’s license and evidence of insurability as driver.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Climb stairs and move about the facility. Occasionally lift up to 35 pounds. Stand for extended time. Participate in activities of the youth including occasional retreats, overnights, and camping activities.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Work within a climate controlled and smoke-free environment and outdoors.
