Pastor
Muncie Monthly Meeting of Friends at Friends Memorial Church is prayerfully seeking a pastor with a heart and calling for an active urban ministry. We prefer a pastor who strongly identifies with the tradition of Friends and one who will whole-heartedly participate in the spiritual and social life of our Meeting. We offer both Programmed and Unprogrammed Meetings for Worship.
We are located in downtown Muncie, Indiana, a low cost of living community that is experiencing tremendous revitalization due to a burgeoning artisan movement. Our Meeting is committed to serving our community through our preschool, food pantry and neighborhood suppers. We enjoy partnering with Ball State University by providing service opportunities for students. We would welcome growth in our ministry to college students and young families but would also appreciate ongoing spiritual nurturance of our members who are no longer able to attend Meeting activities.
Our membership is a blend of young and old, traditional and progressive. Fellowship opportunities include our Circle of Friends Intergenerational gatherings, Quaker Women, Miracle Monday Pub Theology and a growing Children's Program. Our century-old meetinghouse serves as a gathering place for several community groups and includes a library and archives with a treasury of Friends'literature and historical documents.
Our Monthly Meeting is a member of the New Association of Friends headquartered in New Castle, Indiana.
