Children’s Ministry Director

Fostering an environment where Children and Families are encouraged to deepen their relationship and knowledge of Jesus through Bible stories, faith exploration, and community-building ministry.

 

Regular Duties

*Partner with parents in the spiritual development of their children

*Recruit, develop, and work alongside Children’s Ministry Team

*Work to help make Trinity a child-friendly, child-loving congregation

*Lead Children’s Church and help coordinate Children’s Messages on Sundays.

*Oversee children’s programs on Sunday mornings, Kid’s Club, and regularly-scheduled events such as Parent’s Night Out

*Coordinate curriculum for Children’s Ministry programs (i.e. Kids Club, Children’s Church, PNO)

*Develop and plan all aspects of special children’s events such as Vacation Bible School, family events/outings, church camp, fundraisers, community projects, etc.

*With Director of Church Ministries coordinate the background checks and child protection training.

*Coordinate nursery care: paid and volunteer, facilities, cleanliness, safety, etc.

*Monthly newsletter and regular communication to congregation of Children’ Ministry information

*Work with Secretary to collect and record ministry data

 

Qualifications

*Passionate faith in God through Jesus Christ

*Degree in Christian Education or Children’s Ministry

*Strong Biblical knowledge

*Willingness to learn and teach UMC distinctives

*Team player

*Gifts of organization, leadership, teaching, and communication skills

 

Salary

*$30,000 yearly salary. Performance and compensation evaluated annually by the Staff Parish Relations Committee and approved by the Administration Board

*Pay is bi-weekly

*Vacations are as stated in the TUMC employment policy handbook

*3/4 time position – Children’s Director is expected to work no less than 30 hours per week

 

Accountability

*Children’s Director is directly supervised by the Pastor and ultimately overseen by the SPRC

*Staff meeting attendance

*Monthly report to Council on Ministries

*The Children’s Director will meet with the Pastor annually for performance review
